NWR- NEED A JOB!
Okay - Girls -
I recently was told that my position is being cut for next year. I am currently an Administrator for Guidance in a high school in Suffolk. I am looking for a guidance counselor position for September 2005. IF you know of anything please FM me.
It just adds to the stress right now.

I wish I could. I've taught in Seaford for nine years and even in good times (mid 90's) we'd pass a budget by the skin of our teeth. the district has virtually no commercial real estate.
Since I've been there we've lost the director of guidance position (who also had a small case load) and 1/2 of another position in the high school.
We're a growing school of 770 (next year over 800) and we have 2 full time counselors, one part-time who splits with the middle school and a director of guidance who has a caseload too.

try contacting William floyd School District...they are in the process of expanding. The district in dumping loads of money into the schools to try to turn things around.

Every week Dowling posts all of the educational job openings... here: http://www.dowling.edu/mydowling/stu.php You have to scroll down a bit under Announcements...
I would say in addition to just start sending your resume everywhere... i think i remember seeing guidance positions openings in my district, but the resume deadline passed a long time ago...
