Spinoff: How much money would you have to "win" to quit your job?
For me I would always want to work in some capacity, I'd probably go back to school & get my law degree, but in order to quit your current job, how much money would you have to win?

I think it would take a lot...I voted for $5mill. Not because I'm in love with my job...but, because, well a million doesn't really go a long way these days. It's probably not even enough to buy our townhouse in London and a house in NY!

I agree with you there. I think $1 M is great to maybe alleviate some debt & then invest for retirement, but not to live off of

Re: Spinoff: How much money would you have to "win" to quit your job?
I am selfish i guess, i said 1 mil because i could stop working , FH can still work and we would be more than fine...but youre rightr 1 mil doesnt go all so far-so i more likely it would be 5 mil

Re: Spinoff: How much money would you have to "win" to quit your job?
I said 5 million. I know financial advisors said my parents should each have 1 million in the bank to retire comfortably at 65....So, for me at 26 to never work again I would say 5 mill.

Re: Spinoff: How much money would you have to "win" to quit your job?
I putmore than $5Mil. I mean a nice house in LI will cost you at least 1/2 mil..so 5 million doens;t go that far, it's not far enough to live off the interest. It would probably take a LOT. But I think I'd always want to work at leasta little bit. Ok, well I guess if FH was working, then 1 or 2 million would convince me to stay home with our future kids 24/7..for sure

Re: Spinoff: How much money would you have to "win" to quit your job?
Even if I won 100 million dollars, I wouldn't quit. I LOVE my job. Infact, if I won all that money, I'd donate some to my school for a new gym, a theater, etc. I make such little money as it is, I might as well be doing it for free! So I definitely would stay no matter what.

More than 5 mil.
Taxes will suck most of it up. I would need to buy a house and make investments for my future and for the futures of my children.
