What are you giving you Mom for Mother's Day?
i need ideas.
this is going to be a rough one for us. its the 1st one without my grandmother, so i'm trying to think of something special to kind of Over shadow the sadness.
any creative/ thoughtful ideas?

How about a ride out east to the wineries? Maybe check Newsday for events that weekend?

my mom cant really drink... she had a kidney transplant a few years ago and takes alot of medication (the imunosuppresants).  Also, she's more of like a tom-boy in that sense. but trying to think of a thoughtful gift

Did the LI Ducks start playing yet? Maybe tix there? Or how about lunch on the water somewhere? As for a gift can you get her a frame with you and her in it or one of those Mother/Daughter books and you can add your own notes throughout the book or underline things that you find meaningful? I've seen quite a few of those. Also the Hallmark store has a ton of really nice presents!

i was thinking of doing a picture book of pics of us (though i only have like 5 pics MAX of me and her growing up... she wasnt really the photographers type mom)
i didnt know if it would be redundant though since we're giving them the parents albums from the wedding (though who knows how long thats going to take  )

My mom wants an ipod, I wanna download a bunch of her favorite songs & put them on there for her, plus we're taking her out for brunch that day at Lands End (good food)

Last year for mother's day, I made someting soooo sweet for my Mom...
I bought a LARGE collage frame (spots for 4 pics, 4x6) - I turned the frame vertical, then put the first pic ever taken of mom and child in each of the top 3 slots (I have 2 younger siblings). In the last slot, I printed out a Mom poem that I half wrote, half found on the net.
I made some vellum mats for the photos, and coordinated all the colors to her bedroom.
she cried for an hour, and told me that she hated me, but later admitted that it was on of her favorite gifts ever!!!
