Re: Loosing weight Trouble

the two MUSTS For healthy weight loss

portion control and exercise. even the healthiest diet can make you gain weight if you are simply eating TOO much of a good thing.

the other is exercise...I imagine it is especially hard for you with your (beautiful ) daughter, but it's also the best way to boost your metabolism and start the burn!

Perhaps a food diary will help you get control of your portions...you may be eating more than you think.

Good luck.

I hear you! I feel like every time I lose a few, I gain it right back. Are you keeping a food journal? i started doing this and it REALLY helps. i realized that the handful of M&Ms really add up!

Re: Loosing weight Trouble

It's not so much what you eat but how much. You can still enjoy everything you like, just take smaller portions and stay away from 2nd helpings. Only take 1 handful of chips and then put the bag away, don't leave it open in front of you tempting for another grab. I know it's hard, but it can be done! Self-control is key!! And you def have to burn more calories than you consume, that's a rule. Now that the weather's getting nicer go for walks and drink plenty of water. You can do it!!! And you're motivation is whatever works for you, don't berate it!

Re: Loosing weight Trouble

I find that I have trouble with portion control. So I am doing the weight watchers flex points diet. And so far, its working. I lost about 30 lbs on South beach a year ago, but since then I've been in a diet rut. But ww is pretty good, and I'd suggest it to you. For me, I eat pretty healthy, and it is a way for me to keep track of what I eat.

Re: Loosing weight Trouble

I just rejoined WW again, my second time trying this thing! I decided to do the regular meetings, but signed up for the monthly pass which lets me onto their site and use the etools.. so much help! They have a TON of recipes on it.. broken down by points! And their restuarant guide on line is so in depth also! Hopefully this time, I won't gain on it! I weighed more last time after 10 weeks of doing it than when I started! Here I go again!

Re: Loosing weight Trouble

You also have to keep in mind that muscle in heavier than fat. So you may be gaining muscle mass. I have gone through this and it is VERY frustrating. Consume less calories and you will see your weight decrease.

Re: Loosing weight Trouble

As a motivator, I keep a picture of my wedding gown and a picture of our honeymoon site in a clear binder sleeve. I slip it inside the magazine I am looking at while on the elliptical machine. I look at the pictures to remind myself why I go to the gym and why I shouldn't have a second helping of my favorist pasta dish!!!!

IT WORKS

Re: Loosing weight Trouble

I joined WW about two weeks ago, and so far so good. I never ever thought I would do something like that, but like you, no matter what I did, I couldn't lose any weight. It is really teaching me about portion control, like the other girls are saying. For example, yesterday I was full after eating half a turkey wrap. In the old days I would have eaten the rest anyway. Now I am conscious of my points and so I put the rest away to eat another day. I also had half a can of veggie soup, instead of the whole thing I would have had in the past. I joined for 10 weeks for 99 dollars, we'll see how it goes!

Re: Loosing weight Trouble

my fh and i go to the gym on a regular basis. okay. we TRY to go on a regular basis. for me, weight training makes a world of a difference. since muscle weighs more than fat, i stopped looking at the scale and started going by how my clothes fit.

the nice thing about going to the gym is that it gives us time together and time for stress relief. we also keep each other motivated.

Re: Loosing weight Trouble

I've started my diet about a month ago and so far not bad I lost 8 lbs...Yeah I've cheated here and there but I've finally got my self back on the tread mill. I do 1/2 hr a day about 4 x's a week and on Saturday's I go to the gym with FH and do about an hr of cardio while he's off doing weights. It's only 8lbs but I think I'm also losing inches being that my mom, coworkers and a friend of my mom's have told me that I do look a lil thinner...Love hearing that!!! lol
