I just finished "Sammy's Hill" by Kristen Gore. I thought it was really good. And a pretty fast read.

Alice Hoffman, Seveth Heaven.
It is a great book! It takes place on Long Island. Alice Hoffman is the author of Pratical Magic, the movie with Snadra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. She is an amazing writer!

I just started Company Man by Joseph Finder. Excellent book. I started reading it monday, and I am almost finished with it.

I also read his first book called Paranoia. You dont need to read Paranoia before reading Company Man...Too different stories.

I just finished the Secret Life of Bees - it was really good. Long chapters but each chapter had a lot of breaks so you can read a few pages at a time.

Re: I need some suggestions of a good book to read...

Some of my recent favorites included:

The Secret Life of Bees
The Five People you Meet in Heaven
The Last Boy by Lieberman

but I'd recommend highly The Pact by Jodi Picoult. I've read a lot of her books now, started with that one, and it's so moving...My Sister's Keeper, also written by Picoult is really good as well.
