What can I have sent to a friend whos mom has passed away?
My friend from Work, lost her mom this past weekend
It was unexpected, Liver Scerosis(SP) set in while she was in the hospital for cancer in her jaw...
I am very sad for my friend...She is almost 7 months pregnant with the first grandchild in her family...
ANyways, I want to have something delivered to her...but not flowers as I know she will be getting TONS....
Any suggestions?

Do you cook? Since she is getting close to having her baby I bet she does not feel like cooking. Maybe you could bring some casseroles, some that she could maybe freeze?

I would say the food thing or maybe a gift certificate for a dinner out or something. Just the thought behind it will mean so much to her.

Definitely food.
I lost my mom when I was young and took care of my Dad after a stroke for seven years. I was overjoyed when someone would drop off food. My brother lives with him now and one woman we know still drops off lasanga from time to time and it is a Godsend.

FOOD....being pregnant, overwhelmed with grief, and all the plans going on....making some meals would be greatly appreciated! That way all she has to do is heat and eat!!

Food! I know in Jewish families flowers are not send but great big trays of food. And it is just SO helpful for when you just don't feel like cooking. Flowers can just be too much. When my grandmother passed away the 2 things we appreacited the msot were a big basket with flowers that had bu;bs and could be planted, so we plated them and remember my nana every year when they come up, and a great big basket of fruit, crackers, jelly, jams. If she's not far away, food would be great. I know that bagel boss delivers some really yummy food, and they even deliver long distances

FOOD!! When my brother passed the thing that really helped the most with all the people flowing in and out of the house was the food people brought. Someone from my moms job ordered a huge cut up figer sandwich platter and salads from a local deli.
