Update on the Shower and Mom Saga

Thank you all for the advice and support. I did give mom the letter which she in turn showed to my father. My father was so upset Sunday morning that he started crying

I don't know if this had an impact on my mother or not but we did go to the flower appointment and basically told her what ever she wanted was fine. To which she said no...what ever you want is fine. Poor Celelia and Susan at simply stems were so confused! We did attempt to discuss the things that happened on Saturday but believe it or not it started a fight again at which point I said I don't have the strength or energy to do this. Go fight with someone else and I picked myself up and went to FHs house. We are still having a wedding as planned at the Miller Place Inn. It appears that my mom is being much more accomodating and I must say that much of the fight is out of me. At this point I really don't care about the little details. Let her stress the little stuff.

Apparently I have more important things to stress about like my shower which I now have to contribute to. One more day of this and all my BMs are fired and I will go to BBandB and Macys and treat myself to a $500 shopping spree because in essense thats what it has come down to. I know I'm playing the why me game but everything is so darn complicated and dont know why MY wedding is so difficult for everyone.

Thanks again so much for everyone's support and all the FM I received. You ladies are wonderful and I don't know what I would do if I didn't have someone to vent to

You should not have to contribute to your own shower. Tell your bridesmaids not to bother. Take your $500 and go and get yourself some good stuff with those awesome 20% off coupons.
I am sorry that the people involved in your wedding are not supportive. All you can do is be happy that you are marrying the love of your life.

you aren't doing anything wrong here, you should have say in YOUR wedding and you shouldn't have to pay for your shower, i'd rather not have one then, i'm so sorry everyone is making this wonderful time a bad one for you.

i was with moh today and i c there's some trouble with one of my bm's. she(bm) doesn't seem to return calls. they're to set up a date, she says whatever date is fine with her. they want to check places out so she says whatever place is good. i know what your going through

I'm glad the letter somewhat helped...if even a little. I think when she started with you again you did the best thing you could have...left! Be strong and don't let them suck the life out of you. Focus on your ultimate goal...life with your FH.

I do have to say though, if your parents are paying for your wedding, that's a HUGE financial strain that you and your FH don't have to worry about.

But, there are some underlying issues here with your parents.
