How far in advance do you have to Buy a dress?
I am getting married june 06 and i wanted to know when to go dress shopping. i am really not feeling like going yet, can i wait till end of may? also, should i wait for the fall line dresses to come out? i'd hate to buy a dress this summer and then immediately see nicer fall dresses. Why do the dresses take so long to come in?

I would start looking about a 8 months to a year before. You never know how long it will tak to come in!!

I would try to order it by july of this year. It depends on the designer and where the dress comes from. Some designers take up to a year. And a lot of times they are running behind. I ordered my dress 14 months before my wedding. That was the best part of planning. HAVE FUN!!!

Its never too early, but I went to RK Bridal and ordered my dress in January, since I was getting married in November. The dress (Maggie Sottero) came in the beginning of March. Now RK Bridal is storing it until my first fitting in September. If I would have known, I would have waited about two more months.
Ultimately, it all depends on where you go.

I ordered mine 7 months b4 the wedding (almost to the day!) 
but some designers take a LOOOOOOONG time to come in. so you should start looking around. If you find one you really love, find out how long it takes to come in.

I am getting married July 06 and i ordered my dress on Friday...i really loved the dress and i wanted to make sure it didnt get discontinued...everyone says, the sooner the better because you never know what can happen...
