garden city hotel for wedding night
My FH and I are looking into hotels for our wedding night. we're flying out of JFK the next morning so we want something close by. We really would like to say some place "special" . we did a search on hotels.com and found the garden city hotel which looks really nice and is less than 10 minutes away. has anyone stayed there ? how was it? did anyone have to get to JFK from there and if so was it too far?? i know it's pricier but we would like something kinda fancy. what about the other hotels in the area ...anyone stay there and find one really nice?

Re: garden city hotel for wedding night
I was thinking about Garden City hotel too. But we are only going to get a standard room if we do( if they see you just got married they should throw in some champagne at least!)The prices for the bridal suite are from $600(or $800)-1200 a night I believe.

The Garden City Hotel is very beautiful and you can get a standard room for a decent price, especially if you put your guests up there. Also, make sure to negotiate with them...everything is negotiable.

Re: garden city hotel for wedding night
I was very excited that my photographer offered a free night at this hotel if you booked through them. The company i used to work for had many meetings in their ballroom. This place is amazing, and the service is unbelievable. I cannot wait!!

Re: garden city hotel for wedding night
we have stayed there and are staying there in a standard room on our wedding night. its very pretty - and definitely something special. plus, it will be convenient for you to go to the airport the next day.
remember, you only have one "wedding night" - make it the best it can be

Re: garden city hotel for wedding night
Originally that's where I wanted to get married, but really wasn't happy when I met the banquet manager- Joseph Borbely, he seemed to have the attitude that I should be happy he's allowing me to get married there. I had many "connections" to him too. He made it seem like he was doing me a HUGE favor!
After meeting with him, I wanted to see other places. That's when I found the Harbor Club in Huntington. They include a night at the Garden City Hotel.
I'm also going to stay there the night before and get ready there.
Don't get me wrong it's nice there and I want to take pictures there. A regular room is about $320 for the night, which is a little pricey, but it's your wedding!
Good Luck!

Re: garden city hotel for wedding night
I already booked my room there...for two nights it is $600, standard room. I am staying there the night before so all my vendors can meet me there. I am having my MOH and Friend stay with me the night before. Instead of getting the suite...I will have time to set the room up for the wedding night...ex.champagne, stawberries..etc

Re: garden city hotel for wedding night
we are staying at the garden city hotel!! They dont throw in the champagne. if you want the wedding package, which includes champagne it is $550. The deluxe room which has a sitting area and you are on one of the top floors is $275. A superior room, i dont remember what that was has but it is $250 and a standard room is $235, this room is right above their dance club so she said it could be very noisy!! we are staying in the deluxe room!
hope this helped
i just read other peoples post about it being $600...is that for 1 night or 2?? my prices seem very different...i wonder why!!
