Suggestions? Really comfy shoe/sandal for walking around Italy on those cobblestone streets.
I'm a high heel kind of person...even though flats are "in", I love my heels!
We are going to Italy soon, and I'm looking everywhere for a comfy shoe.
Any suggestions?
MY DH says I should give up the whole shoe/sandal idea and just wear sneakers

Birkenstocks are always comfy, but really flat
I think Ecco makes nice sandals that might have a b it of a heel but are comfy. Check Zappos
Don't buy too many pairs of shoes, here, though. You will want to buy shoes in Italy and they will be more comfy too. I went to Italy with some comfy sandals and bought two pairs there and the "American" ones stayed in the suitcase.

While I haven't been to Italy, Santorini has the same landscape as the Amalfi Coast - lots of climbing to get to your hotel, restaurants, etc...cobblestone. I actually just wore flip flops and was surprisingly comfortable.
Aerosoles always has comfy and cute shoes...

They are not the cutest shoes, but Teva sandals are extremely comfortable, cushiony and have some arch support. I walked all over the place on my honeymoon in them and they were great!

I love my keds
aren't men funny DH always picks out these hot shoes for me to buy, but NEVER wants me to wear them out. He says my shoes slow us down. and he gets nervous when I drink with them or have to go up stairs

Dansko, the company that makes clogs, also makes some sandals. I have a pair and the soles are SO cushy and comfortable.

I actually have some cute heeled sandals made by Areosoles that I work in behind the bar for 8hrs at a time. Ecco makes the most comfy shoes but, they tend to be flats.

Re: Suggestions? Really comfy shoe/sandal for walking around Italy on those cobblestone streets.
I just went to Italy. Just give in and wear sneakers, especially if you are doing a lot of walking around. I wore heels one day (walked all over Naples) and my feet were killing the next day. They were so sore.
ETA: on a normal day the shoes I wore are extremely comfortable too!! I also agree that aerosoles has some cute sandals.
Have fun!!

I couldn't imagine walking for any length of time in anything but sneakers...Why don't you just bring your hot heels for going out to dinner(s) and stuff...?
Or like someone said: I heard that Aerosoles are very comfy and they do have some cute styles.

I love my birks, but if I were going to be doing a lot of walking I might go for sneakers.

You know, if you want to wear sneakers and are afraid of looking like a tourist, why not look for trendy sneakers that might be popular in Italy.
