Who lifts the veil in the church, your father/family member, or the groom?

I think sometimes the father (or both parents) lift it slightly to kiss you as they give you away and puts it back down but then the groom lifts it for the ceremony. That may be an option.

I, for one, am not havng a veil covering my face at all. By the time I get married, I will be close to 36. I have waited my whole life for this and I'll be damned if I am going to let a veil block my vision in any way!

I think it depends on the ceremony. In a full Catholic mass, I think you need to have it lifted before the mass starts so you can receive communion, but in other services, I think the groom can lift it when he kisses you.

I have seen it both ways. Where the groom lifts it right before he kisses you, or when your father/family member gives you away.
Me personally I had my brother lift it after he gave me away

My Dad lifted mine before he "gave me" to DH. We had a mass, I wouldn't have wanted it over my face the whole time and would have had to lift it to receive communion.
