DUH? Get a load of this... UPDATED
I teach in a high school in Nassau county.
Ninth period today I go to check my mailbox and see a piece of paper (memo, white paper) put in there upside down so I turn it over and see...
"COME CELEBRATE A SURPRISE BRIDAL SHOWER FOR
THERESA H!@#$%"
OMG.... so I stop reading so as not to see the date.
DUH, that's ME!!!!! Who's the DOPE that put an invite for my SURPRISE shower in MY MAILBOX 
Don't get me wrong I'm grateful but I quickly stopped in to about 5 other teachers to tell them to tell whomever was in charge of notices (I never want to know) that I didn't see the date but there was one in my box.
DUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
ETA: I spoke with the woman who is throwing it for me and she said someone had to have DELIBERATELY put it in my box to ruin the surprise for me. She put them in the mailboxes and made sure to skip mine
How sad, pathetic and childish is that? Why would someone want to steal another person's joy like that?
Last laugh is on them because I didn't see the date.
Got to feel sorry for such pathetic people with nothing better to do with their time.

No biggie in the long run at least it will still be a surprise. Its amazing how dumb people are.
- For my work shower, I am not even surprised- they asked me what date I wanted it! They also planned it for the Friday after school the weekend of Mother's Day and half our staff is going out of town! Oh and two other girls got engaged so all of us are having our shower together. I am just glad they are even having one!

No, they aren't that swift. It was definitely a blooper.
Good thing I don't work at the Dept. of Homeland Security.
They always give people showers and they've managed to keep everyone else's a surprise.
They hold them Fridays after school. They concoct some reason to drag the bride to the faculty room.
I didn't read the date, so I still don't know but I'm guessing two weeks from tomorrow. We have off next week.
