Re: Rose Petal Cones
I heard other brides on here talk about useing Dollies as the paper for the Rose Petal Cones they got it from like Michels or something.
I think I am doing my own too I 'll probably use the Dollie paper to do it

Re: Rose Petal Cones
I used 24lb paper but it's in the same color my programs are. Just print in regular paper before you print them that way you won't waste the paper you are using. They were pretty easy to make and easy to fold as well.

Re: Rose Petal Cones
I made mine with vellum. They were really quite easy, though the ribbon was a little time consuming. This isn't a great picture, but I don't have a better one scanned.

Re: Rose Petal Cones
For my sister's wedding we used paper dollies that we got at Walmart. We rolled them an secured with double stick tape. Then we tied a ribbon around it. They came out pretty and were cheap and easy to make!

Re: Rose Petal Cones
They're used to whole the rose petals that guests will throw as an alternative to rice or blowing bubbles.

Re: Rose Petal Cones
Attached is a templete!
I met with John from Flower Michele today, he said to make sure the opening at the top is not to small. The bigger the better! It's easier for people to throw the flowers and easier for you to fill with petals.

Re: Rose Petal Cones
This may be a dumb questions...how do people throw them...they leave them in the come and then just aim them at you?? I have never seen them done at a wedding...which is surprising

Re: Rose Petal Cones
I've seen rose petals being thrown in just about every photographers book that I visited (that would be 4).
I never really thought about it until then, I think it looks so pretty when you see a black and white picture with colored rose petals flying in the air.
John from Flower Michele told me not all churches let you do it. He told me for my church to keep the petals in the Limo and tell the drivers to have them ready for people when I'm leaving. Basically don't make it obvious that I'm going to do it.
