Chocolate (all colors) Lollipops?

I thought it would be nice to make them for a special a occasion, but I never made them before.

Can you share your recipe for...chocolate (all colors) lollipops? What supplies do you need and where do you them?

TIA.

Re: Chocolate (all colors) Lollipops?

I ususally just by the colored chocolates, (I've gotten them at party stores, Michaels, Ac Moore) and I just get the molds and the sticks. Thats the easy way. If there is and easier way I'd love to know!

Where do you live? There is a great place in Wantagh that sells everything you need. It is called Grandma's Kitchen and it is on Wantagh Avenue.

You need the chocolate, molds, sticks and bags to start. For different colors there are a few different techniques, but you can buy the colored chocolate and actually paint the mold first.
FM me if you want more info...i make lollipops for a lot of different occasion!

Just buy the colored chocolate!

If you want to do more than one color on one mould, put in the first color (use a paintbursh for details), put it in the fridge to harden, take it out then do the next color and repeat.

Supplies you'll need

Chocolate - I use merckens, they come in bags of 2, 5 or 10lbs, and they are big chips, about the size and shape of those candies that they ut nonpareils on.

Moulds

A double boiler (there are ways to substitue this if you need to)

a few spoons

a paintbrush for details

sticks 9for lollipops)

bags, foil, ribbon, anything to trim it with

Also, depending on what it is, the sotre will also sell sugar coated things like eyes, or other accessories that you na stick on at the end with a little melted chocolate.

To make the chocolate, boil water in the bottom of the double boiler..once it boils, shut off the gas, then put the top on the double boiler, put the chocoale in and cover it, let is sit there utnil it melts, stirring every so often until it's all melted (stirring helps this process).

Then use a spoon or just pour the chocolate into the mould...if you're pouring, make sure you wipe off the bottom of the pan the chocolate is in..you do NOT wantto get water in the chocoalte. it completely screws everything up.

Usually when I'm making a lot of colors, and I'm just using them for details I microwave the colors in a small bowl, 20 seconds at a time stirring in between. be careful not to overcook it, it'll reharden and get gross. Some people do all chocoalte in the microwave, but I feel it comes out a lot better on the stove, plus you can keep in on the double boiler (flame OFF!) and it will keep it melted for some time.

If you want to reheat the chocolate or make more chocolate, take the top pot off the double boiler and reboil the water. Never put the chocolate on the pot when the flame is on, also you don't need a lot of water..you don't want it to touch the bottom of the pot the chocolate is in. chocolate scalds VERY easily
