Recommend Ceremony Spot? Repost from BHB.
We are not getting married in a church, b/c FH just doesn't believe. East Wind has a beautiful spot outdoors to hold the ceremony, but if it rains, we'll be forced inside our reception room - a makeshift chapel. Regardless of weather, I need to see FH before so we can take pics (which I'm not crazy about).
Can anyone recommend a ceremony site that has indoor and outdoor capability? Instead of guests going to see us get married at a church, they would come to this site - ie college campus?? Looking for something in Suffolk County. Prefer South shore.
HELP! I want to have that experience of driving w/ my dad in the car on the way to get married, seeing FH for the first time as I come down the aisle, etc.
TIA.

We're also not getting married at a church but at the hall. Also outside ceremony, if it rains they're gonna makeover the reception room into a chapel and then change it back during the CH. It stinks cause I really don't want it to rain, so I've already starting praying that it'll be nice. I'm gonna ride in a limo there and then they have a room for my FI in addition to the bridal suite so we don't see each other beforehand. It's a really nice place and I've only heard good things about it! Located in Smithtown where 454 and 347 cross. Just a thought!

Kris, Jeanine and i were JUST talking baout the same thing last nite bc Matt and i are getting married at the place too and i am DEAD SET AGAINST seeing him first. I would rather have no pics than to lose that moment of seeing him the first time i walk down the aisle. NO WAY!!!!

Wemay be using the C.W Post Interfaith Center. It has a very nice chapel. As far as I know it does not have utdoor ceremony capabilities, but you do get time to take photos outdoors on their grounds.

You can try The Historical Chapel, in Jericho. I don't know if your FH will approve, it is a place for any religion or belief, If I come up with anything else I will let you know.

Re: Recommend Ceremony Spot? Repost from BHB.
Haha - this post is so old. For the Bride who bumped, I never did find a spot...FH and I are getting married at East Wind, and we are seeing each other beforehand. The idea of seeing him beforehand really grew on me after I spoke to Brides who had (and hadn't) done it themselves.
HOWEVER, check out the Bride's Review - a bride just posted her DIY wedding, and it looks like they were married at a barn - very country and romantic.
