After Hour (Tuxes) in Roosevelt Field Mall
Does anyone have any experience with this place? Would love to hear if it is worth checking out. Thanks

I decided against it because every time we went to After Hours there was a 17 year old kid working there. Also they ship their tuxes in and if there is a mistake there aren't any replacement tuxes.
We went with S & S in Hicksville. They have everything on site and offer emergency 1/2 hour service. My brother has used them no less than 13 times. They actually have his measurements lamenated and permanently on file

I decided against it because every time we went to After Hours there was a 17 year old kid working there. Also they ship their tuxes in and if there is a mistake there aren't any replacement tuxes.
We went with S & S in Hicksville. They have everything on site and offer emergency 1/2 hour service. My brother has used them no less than 13 times. They actually have his measurements lamenated and permanently on file
Thanks! Do you know if S&S has more than one store? I was trying to get a place that was a chain to be convenient for the guys. Thanks

My FH went there for his sister's wedding, and they did a bad job measuring him (his sleeves were too long, and pants too short!). The same one screwed up and didn't send another groomsman's measurements to the After Hours in NC where the wedding was...it was a huge disaster. If you decide to use them, be careful!

i've heard that they didn't have a very good selection. we went to rays tuxedos in franklin square. the guy is so nice and they have a nice selection.

DH was in a wedding party that used After Hours. They screwed up both his and another GMs tux. DH didn't realize he had the wrong jacket until he compared with the other GMs, and they couldn't/wouldn't do anything about it. He finally got the charge taken off his credit card, after a dispute.
ETA: We used Men's Warehouse and had no problems.

Fh used to work at S &S in Huntington which was owned by the brother of Hicksville...they have since closed down so the Hicksville one is the only store...FH is going to get his there (of course) but he has told me that the upside to them is that they OWN everything so if something gets messed up they have everything there - Mens Warehouse for example orders them in so you have a greater chance of something going wrong
P.S. FH had to rent a tux last year and since we are currently in Philly for his cousins wedding and when we got the wedding - which his dad and brothers were at he said the quality of the tuxes at S & S were soooo much better

For those that are worried about one location, you can have the GM call in their measurements from anywhere in the country or world. Like I said in my original post, my brother has used them no less than 13 times. Every wedding he has been in that used them there were guys from OOT, OOS and some from Europe. Even if they called in the wrong measurements the store won't let them leave with the tux without trying it on. If you try it on at one of these chains and something doesn't fit, chances are they won't have the right size on hand, stores like S & S do.
They also offer emergency service. My Dad is handicapped and it is very difficult to get his measurements. They were great and said if anything happens day of (some sort of emergency), call them and they will get whatever we need to us.
BTW, their prices were in line with all of the other chains.
Oh, and selection. Do you mean colors, vests, ties etc. They had a lot of different colors and types.

DH and I were going to use them but when we went there, there was a cord stretched across the front- they were not letting anyone in the store. People picking stuff up were lining up outside the store and the workers were scrambling around like mad inside the store. We decided not to use them.
We ended up with Men's Warehouse and it worked out well for everyone.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO !!!
We have had horrible experiences at that location and many others have too. Stay away!
We used Zellers across from the Source Mall. They have been terrific and they have great prices.
