Zagat survey spin off...What's your worst restaurant experience? C'mon it'll be fun!
This wasn't my worst, but it sticks in my mind. We went to Mexican Radio down by where Lafayette splits in two out into Cleveland place. We sat near the window, I was facing outside. There was an island with a little gated park outside where the two streets crossed, and there were a few garbage pails near the gate and all night I watched as about 10 rats ran from one garbage pail to the other and back again...you can't tell me they stay on their side of the street!!!

This dumpy pizza place in Merrick (that is no longer there - I think it used to be called Sam and Sleazy's or something like that). I was eating lunch with a friend and she started to gag. Apparently she found a bloody band-aid in her Calzone Barf!!!

friends came from Florida, they wanted to go to Justin's (p.diddy's restaurant) so we went.
Let me start by saying if I ever see Diddy in the streets I will request my 240.00 back.
You walk into the place, a huge screen TV on the back wall with Biggie on it, like a commercial, it was so dark in there as well. Music was too loud, then server comes out and asks if we would would like our water flat or sparkling? We did not realize that this was a yes or no question. DH said flat, figuring no sense wasting money on the water. Server then comes out with waters and open almost empty bottle of water. Thinking back, this could have been a bottle that they use over and over again while getting my water from a tap. The end of the meal-on the bill it was 27.00 for water. The food was terrible and 2 of the 4 plates were untouched. Server asked if I was finished I said yes and that I did not care for it. she said okay, but all 4 meals were still on check. Drinks were watered down. sorry so long, just rehashing memories

the fried cockroach in my lo mein at some chinese resteraunt near Nassau Colliseum.
Was the first time I went out to eat with DH's family...ooh and I hadroot canal that day.
The place tried to charge us for my dinner.

I went to Barraida in Mineola with Mr Boots' family (his mom's birthday or something) and it's one of those Churrascaria places with all meat, all the time. I ordered the shish kebab. The service was so slow. I mean moutains eroded, oceans rose, entire branches of evolution flourished and were wiped out while we waited for our dinner. After months, my dinner arrived and it was raw, y'all, raw! No, not rare, not undercooked. A good vet could have saved it.
The waiter took it back, and when he returned with the presumably "cooked" shish kebab, the only difference was that it was hot and raw.

FSIL had never been to Jekyl & Hyde's in NYC, so we went to see the tree in December, and she BEGGED us to go there for lunch.
We waited 1.5 hrs on a line to get in (table for 4) - another 10 minutes in that tiny little hallway where the ceiling lowers, and then had to walk to the top floor b/c the elevator was broken. FSIL has vein issues in her leg, so we had to take it slow.... 30 minutes later, we were seated in a back corner table that was made for 2, but they set it for 4 'cause it was a busy day.
Waiter didn't come to take drink orders for another 45 minutes, and came back with the WRONG drinks 15 minutes later.
Another 30 minutes passed before they took our food order, and another HOUR before the server came out to tell us that they RAN OUT OF BUNS, but we could have bunless burgers/chicken sandwiches for $2 less. 
FINALLY FSIL let us leave, but the place wouldn't let us go until we paid a $20 SEATING FEE (apparently it was for the entertainment that we couldn't even see, 'cause we were shoved in a corner.)
I opened my fat mouth and b!tched about all the time we wasted, and told them that if they really wanted the $20, they could sue me for it. 
I'll NEVER go back there!!!

OMG - seriously makes me think twice about eating out...
Mine is nasty- but not nearly as nasty as some others here.. this one diner we WENT to each and every time i ordered an omelette would have nasty hair in it! we dont go there anymore
my mother went to a certain taco fast food place..(HINT HINT) years ago and found rat hair in her burrito- i asked how she knew it was rat hair and she said when she brought it up to the counter the girl said they had that problem before. YUCK! we dont eat there anymore either

Two episodes--
1. I found a coarse curly hair in my Burger King burger at the food court back in college (St John's U)
2. Last summer DH and I took a road trip down south thru the Blue Ridge Mts. We stopped at a place called Johnny Appleseed's. I ordered fried chicken and DH ordered meat loaf. The waitress got this panicked look on her face and started telling us how the fried chicken will take longer than the meatloaf-- we were like "Don't worry about it!". Well, she brought the two meals out at the same time. I bit into a piece of fried chicken, and... yep, you guessed it. Pink and bloody inside. I would have accepted this if it were a burger, but come on, this is CHICKEN. You cannot serve it medium rare. She did give me a substitute meal for free though.

There's a diner in Patchogue on the corner of the service road and Hospital Road that we went to eat at one night. Hubby ordered a second helping of soda. He looked down and got this horrid look on his face! There was about a hundred fruit flies at the bottom of the soda. They even admitted they had a "problem" with the flies nesting in the ice machine But, the ba$tards didn't give him anything off on his dinner. They said they've give him another "free" coke. I called BBB and Board of Health and they fined the f'er's!!!

An italian restaurant run by an Indian family in NICE, France!! What were we thinking???
I felt so bad because they were a nice family and we were the ONLY customers in there (shoulda been a clue) but everything tasted like FEET and my Ex's mother kept gagging loudly at the table.

Red Lobster in Times Square, where we waited an hour to be seated WITH A RESERVATION, we waited a half hour to get stinkin bread (we were 3 people, and we got 2 little cheesy-breads - we had to SHARE the bread!)
We waited another hour to get our food, and when it came, a side dish was missing bc the waitress forgot to put it on the plate. When we asked her to GO GET IT, she never brought it.
They gave us coupons in the amount of our meal, whoopie, like we're ever going back.

Definitely Gonzalez and Gonzalez in the city.
They sit us almost next to the bathroom, it takes forever to take our order, the waiter was never around and the food was just blah and so small for the freaking prices they charge. Never, ever again. I really don't know what the hype was about.

I found a baby roach in the bottom of my fettucine alfredo at the "metro" diner in lynbrook..this was prob 10 years ago!! :(
My mom still eats there, she has always loved the food..they did apologize oh about a bajilliion times. I threw up in their bathroom for a while.

LOL, the Island Grill!!! I live right down the street from there and have eaten there several times. Food isn't really that good, but now I'll really never go back!!!
