Hi everyone,
Wow...so many greeks! I never realized how many there are. I bought my bm's gold ball earings and m&p gift certificate. I bought the boys a travel kit with accessories.
My sister was my matron of honor and I bought her a "Big Sister" Lladro...she collects figurines. I bought my koumbaro a David Yurman bracelet.
For hair/make-up, I used Bessie from Beautiful Girls. I liked that she was able to come to my house the morning of my wedding. Her # is 718-415-4321.

Hi Girls......
I am leaving tomorrow afternoon and probably won't be able to post before Sunday. Iwanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter. I'll be away for a bachelorette party, but I came home a day early to celebrate my 1st engaged Greek Easter with my FH. I'll land just in time to make it to church on Saturday night!!!

Greek girl here too!!!!!! We are not getting married in the church though. FH is Catholic and i know it doesnt matter, but we both aren't really into the church thing.

HAPPY EASTER to all! Hope everyone has a great time... As far as www.portara.com ... its a great website. The actual store is in Bayside and I've been meaning to go there (FH and I are baptizing his niece so we need lambathes... as well as stefana) BUT they arent opened on Sundays and close early during the week. I foud a stefanothiki I like on the website. Once I go I'll let you all know what I find.

Is this the place on Francis Lewis? If so, I went there a couple of weeks ago and bought my friends stefanothiki from there. The lady ws very nice and she makes some gorgeous stefana. Anastasia's on Northern is good oo.

hi girls,
my fiance and i thought of a question this weekend, i was thinking that alot of you girls would know the answer:
if you are baptized greek orthodox, do you then have separate ceremonies where you receive the sacraments of holy communion and confirmation? (this is what is done in catholic church)
my fiance told me that he never had holy communion in second grade and confirmation in seventh grade like i did. he only got baptized as a baby. we were wondering if this is this normal in the greek orthodox religion.

(also, i know some of you guys are having a mixed italian greek wedding like me, Were you able to find a band that plays italian and greek music? if not what are you doing?)
