I definitely do. For the most part people say thanks, but there are some really bratty kids out there who just run through like it is expected.

I usually do - when people do not say thank you - I usually say very rudely to them, You're welcome.

Re: Easy Poll: Do you hold the door open for people?

I do and always feel the need to say your welcome if they don't say thanks, so I guess I am not doing a good deed since I am looking for gratitude.

Re: Easy Poll: Do you hold the door open for people?

i always hold the door- and for the most part, people say thank you.

I've found that MEN in my own age group are least likely to say thank you --- it happens a lot at school.

I always do, but there are certains times when people don't say thanks and it makes me so mad, but I guess I'm being the better person.

Re: Easy Poll: Do you hold the door open for people?

I do it a lot out of common courtesy. For the most part, I think people are appreciative.

I don't think it's a gratitude thing as much as it is a courtesy thing. I hold the door for you, as a courtesy - at least have the same courtesy and acknowledge my action. We are not androids.

That's great...the best is if someone steps in front of you or bumps into you and they don't say anything I say "excuse you!"

lol @ responses

i'll share another story...'

we had a person here that would just leave enough room to "squeeze" herself in. She knows for a fact people are behind her but wont even open the door all the way for others to get it. wt hell is wrong with her...
the good side to this story is she is gone forever. horrayyy
