Question re: meeting with florist

The first time I meet with a florist, should I expect them to be ready to prepare a sample centerpiece for me (if I've spoken with them prior to the appointment and told them what I'm thinking of doing?)

I would say probably not. Usually the first meeting you bring pictures and give them information.
Together you come up with what you want/what they can do and then if it's something very different (they don't have a picture of it in their portfolio) I would definitely ask for a centerpiece in subsequent weeks - whenever they can get the supplies to get it ready for you.

I had three sample centerpieces made for me - and I gotta tell you that Verbena over in Glen Cove really rocks!! They are easy to work with, prices are very good in comparison to others I've looked at, and the talent, creativity and dedication was unmatched.

So, I highly recommend visiting her. And visit a few others too...and it'll be a few trips back & forth .. but definitely get any serious contenders to make a sample CP for you. What they think you might want might be totally different than what you want.
And you should know that before booking them.

Great, thank you! I will definitely look into Verbana... Did you meet with Simply Stems at all? I have an appointment with them coming up.
