Questions for BTDT working moms...
For those of you without family close by, what did you do after you returned to work from maternity leave? Nanny? Au-pair? Daycare? Did someone come to your house or did you drop your baby off somewhere? How much did it cost?
DH and I are toying with the idea of totally renovating our basement to make it into a living space for a potential au-pair. BUT, before we spend the $10k to revamp the basement, we want to explore all options first...

We use a local daycare. We are very lucky as my job contributes to the fee.

I had a babysitter - I dropped my son off everyday - then when he was 3 1/2 I found a preschool/daycare.

We are very lucky that I have a daycare facility in my building AND that we were able to get a space there.
