Inviting people the wedding....Family issues (long but please read)

We haven't talked to my aunt and uncle or my cousin (their daughter..who is married with kids) for a few years. My aunt is my father's sister and my parents are divorced and we don't speak to my father anymore and haven't for 15 plus years. I don't feel that this has anything to do with my father because my aunt wants nothing to do with him.

We were very close to my aunt and uncle for a while but then they stopped calling and we got a card that they had moved. Something is just very strange with this situation..this was about 2-3 years ago. My mother has only talked to my aunt briefly for about 2 minutes since then. I invited them to my e-party and I got cards from both of them stating that they could not come.

I feel obviously they do not want to be close to us anymore or have anything to do with us anymore....so should I invite them to my wedding?? I know they will not come and they are acting so strange...I really don't want them there. My mom says that I should do what I want to do about inviting them.

What do you think??

Edited to claify a few things

I think if you don't want them there, and your mom says it is up to you, I don't think you have to invite her. If there is something strange going on, you don't want it to surface on your big day. You can still send them a wedding announcement after you are married.

If you do not want them there then don't invite them especially if you will feel uncomfortable with them there. I don't mean to sound harsh but it's your wedding and you should invite who you want.
I also have a similiar situation with an aunt and cousin that I don't think I want to invite(because of my sis's wedding, long story) but yet I want to invite my cousin who is my aunt's son and cousin's brother. It's a touchy situation but WE both have to do what makes us happy. Try not too stress.

The type written card was so bizarre....I almost feel like one of them died or is really ill and they don't want us to know...soooo strange!!

Well...you know what they say
You can't pick your family but you can pick your friends. I think its sad that people are family and they don't even talk.
I'm talking from personal experience.
