UK Bride getting married in New York
Hi there, my name is Ruth and I live in Liverpool, UK.
H2B and I have decided that we would like to get married in New York, just the two of us. I've found info on the internet regarding getting the marriage license, but could anyone tell me where the best place would be to get married - I've heard that some Clerk's offices are nicer than others.
I'd also appreciate any recommendations for an informal photographer and possibly a videographer.
and FINALLY (!) what would be the BEST restaurant at which to celebrate with great food and champagne?
I'd really appreciate your help!
Bye for now Ruth x

Re: UK Bride getting married in New York
Thanks for the responses. I've done some more 'homework' on the internet and I've now found out that I can hire an officiant and have the ceremony in Central Park.
Has anyone any personal recommendations for an officiant?
Regards Ruth X

List of Officiants in NY
Peter Basich
above there's a list of officiants to choose from. the person who conducted our ceremony was Rev George Herzog. Nice guy but what a talker! his fee's $400. and if you're interested in new york's other famous sites, my hub and i got married on the brooklyn bridge. along with central park, you can't beat the view! there's no fee and no permit needed but you'll have to speak to Peter Basich who's a manager of bridges and tunnels. let him know your date and he'll let you know whether it's 'ok.' it's just in case there's any construction work going on that's all.
i have a friend who's a photographer (photo journalist / fashion photographer) is wonderful! if you're interested in him, please email me.
until then, hope this info's of some help to you. good luck with everything!
