I've had my first "official" bridesmaid drama

I won't bore you all with the details. It's from FH's wacky sister. I guess I should be surprised it took this long. Once again it's all about her. Ugh!! I need strength. I'm going with her tomorrow to get measured for her dress. I"m gearing myself up to "put on a happy face" when I really just want to give her a piece of my mind!! Thanks for letting me vent. I feel better already.

Trust me - not so interesting, but here goes: I was supposed to make an appointment for dress measuring around 4:00 on Saturday and let her know the exact time. Work was crazy busy this week and I was told that we didn't need an appointment, which was weird because they have always said we needed one. So I made the HUGE mistake of not calling her soon enough to her liking. So she blew up at FH (her brother) that she's not sure if I really want her in the wedding because I asked her last (we were trying to see her in person to ask, but it was impossible at the time so I ended up doing it over the phone plus I was waiting for FH to decide if he wanted her husband in it, which he decided not to have him) Honestly I don't remember the order but she may have been last. She also was the least excited when I did ask. She was too concerned about who was going to watch her two kids during the church (a whole other story!) She is always complaining about how hard it is to be stay at home mom with two small kids. I guess she thought raising two kids would be easy.
She's kinda dramatic all the time, so this is nothing new. Plus I've sent out e-mails about various things and she is the only bridesmaid that never answers. She has no time for e-mail (except to send pictures of her son with some other kid none of us know or care about.)

I think that about covers it. Are you sorry you asked?

Sorry if I bored you.

You may be right about the jealousy thing. I think there are days she regrets marrying her husband. He can be a bit of a BOOB. He is extremely clueless and only cares about his toys (boat, guns, skiing). He's not much help with the kids. Sometimes I do feel badly for her, but she knew he was this way when she decided to have one, and then two kids. We're going out to dinner with them (and the 3 and a half and 1 and a half year old) tomorrow night too. I really can't wait for that!

I just had a half hour long conversation with her. She apologized for last night, said she was having a bad day. I was really nice. I do feel badly for her. Her mom passed away years ago, her dad passed away a long time ago, she has no sisters, and her MIL lives far away & hardly ever even calls them. FH & I are going to make more time to help her out more often. I think the measuring should go fine today. We are leaving her kids home with the BOOB & FH (luckily FH is very good with them) We'll only be gone like half an hour anyway.

sounds like my SIL...complaining about being a stay at home mom...she's so lucky, many women would kill to be able to stay home with their kids as opposed to daycare.

she's lucky to have you guys there for her. hopefully this will be the beginning of a close SIL bond for you both!! good luck.

all that venting and now you are the sweet one trying to help her..she is lucky to have someone like you enter the family. It's okay to speak your mind with her. She might be overwhelmed with the kids and husband being a "boob", she does not realize it. Also nice of you to have dinner with them. Have FUN!!
