Bridal Shop Closing!!
Hey ladies...
This is a repost from the NY forum on theKnot:
Topic: Bridal shop in Long Island suddenly closed!

They just reported it on channel 2 news. Kay-Ann bridal shop in Franklin Sq. L.I. just declared bankruptcy. A bride who is getting married in may & paid for her dress & her 9 bridesmaids were left without their dresses. I'm new here but just thought i'd share it with the knotties.
I dont know how true this is, but I suggest you ladies check this out.

I dorve by there this weekend and it looks fine to me. Fh drives past it all the time, it's right near his house..I'll ask him to look. I was thinking of looking there for my gown

I heard, sootobekunz told me, her FI wnt to school with the girl on the news. We feel so bad for that poor girl. I was over there about a week ago and I actually thought maybe I'd start looking there. Poor thing

The same thing happened a few years ago with Saymel's Bridal in Astoria. So many brides left without dresses. And they were really reputable too. That makes me so nervous. Like you can't trust anywhere you go.

My sister got her dress there for her wedding 6 years ago and basically the whole wedding party got their dresses at Saymels as well and all was fine. Then a few years ago, they just up and shut their doors. My sister's friends were getting married at this time and their dresses were on order when they shut. I remember it being on the news too. Brides gathered at the place for days until the lawyer showed up and opened the doors and basically brides were just grabbing dresses. I still don't know why they shut down. It worries me because it shows even a reputable place can close. It's just horrible having to depend on all these outside sources to make your big day perfect. Like we need another stress factor here ....

So I passed by the store today bc it's not far from my house. There was a sign on the door that said (by the way this is how the words on the sign were spelled...this is not my spelling).... "Sory but we are closed for envintory. Please come back." There were still dresses in the window of the shop but it was clearly closed (it was about 4:30 on Saturday afternoon). I thought it was strange that a sloppy sign like that would be on a bridal shop that has been around for so many years. Something's up with that!
ETA: The sign was on Kay-Ann's bridal shop in Franklin Square

My friend was one of the brides on the news who almost lost her dress! She was interviewed on Fox 5. She managed to find her dress and veil crumpled in a ball and had her alterations done elsewhere. Scary!!

teha we passed Kay Ann, and it looked absolutely normal...and I nticed that sign..it's just on aregfular sheet of paper, but I couldn't read it. VERY weird.

This is so very true cuz my friend has ordered her dress from there and has paid in full and she can't get in touch with anyone at the store to get her dress and her dress is in the store and some of her brides maids have left deposits and she can't get them back either.

I passed by on Saturday and the sign was there too, and they still had Valentine's Day decorations in the windows too. We thought it was odd but who would have thought they closed down
