Table Number & Placecard Questions
A few questions about table numbers:
1) How are you doing yours? Are you making them yourself, buying them? Can you recommend some places for me to check out?
2) How are you displaying them? We were thinking about putting them in silver 5x7 photo frames. Has anyone done this or have any suggestions for places to get cheap frames?
On to the placecard question
Our plan is to have our menus double as placecards. The calligrapher is going to put each person's first name at the top of the menu, which will then be tucked into the napkin at their place setting. Do you think it will be too hard for people to realize that the menu has their name on it? Will they be looking for the standard tented placecard?
We're having the escort cards attached to our wine favor, so everyone will already know which table they're at when they start looking for their placecard.
Thanks

My favor twin! Hey Jenn!
1) Making them myself...hoping to print them on a pretty font on a Crane's Crest card. I bought all my supplies at Kate's Paperie.
2) Thought about the frames too...believe it or not, .99 cent stores have some cute ones, but we're doing place card stands and attaching it to the hook thing.
I don't think people will have a hard time figuring out that the menu has their name on it since they need to uinfold the napkin to put it over their lap (or shirt! ). I like your idea...and I like the wine escort card idea too!

I had mine made all the info is in my review You can go to a .99 cents store for inexpensive silver frames.
Mine were on cardstock folded in half with matching ribbon tied underneath. This helped it stand up and the table name ( we did names instead of numbers) was displayed on both sides instead of just one.
My HONEST opinion people will not notice that the menu's have names on them until they are already sitting down. I don't think its worth it but its a cute idea.

I did the same thing. Mmade my own table numbers and put them in gold glass frames that I brought from my local $.99 store. With regards to the names being on the menu, I don't think people are going to see their names on the menu until they are already in their seats.

Re: Table Number & Placecard Questions
We bought about five each of five different frames at the Christmas Tree Shops (I liked them all) and printed the table numbers using photo paper. The table number also explains about the donation we're making.
Frames were around $3 - $4 each.
We're doing escort cards only, no placecards.

Re: Table Number & Placecard Questions
Check out this website for table number and place cards. Not sure whether I'm going to order them or make them myself, but this website gave me some ideas.

Re: Table Number & Placecard Questions
I'm ordering mine from here. Brittany is great to work with, does beautiful work and her prices aren't that steep. She made some beautiful samples for me and I'm really having a tough time deciding which to pick. I found her thanks to Bunnymonkey!

Re: Table Number & Placecard Questions
That is a good idea, but I do agree that they probably won't realize names on the menu until after they sit down. I don't think people expect to have assigned seats. I know I probably would't be too crazy about it, but I guess they could always move around within the table.

Really? I'm not even kidding, I never knew that! I thought you were supposed to have the escort cards to tell them what table they're at and then the placecards to tell them where they're sitting at the table? This is why I need LIW Is anybody doing "asssigned seating" or was I totally off base on this?

I'm not doing assigned seating at all. I am telling them which table to go to, but knowing FH's family, they'll move around too...people will find who they want to sit with and stay there...plus I want my guests to move around and mingle.
On another note - I pick up the favors tomorrow! Will let you know how it goes.

All of the weddings I've been to just have the one placecard telling the guests which table to sit at. I"ve never seen anything saying which placesetting was for each guest. I think I would skip the names on the menu. It might be confusing.
