at what age did you let your dog sleep in the bed and not the crate?

Bailey got the bed at about 2 1/2 years old. Boomer is in his crate at night since he's a pup, but this morning after I fed him and went back to bed, he was crying so badly that I let him in the bed with Bailey and I and believe it or not, he went back to sleep for about 3 hours!

Tonk stayed in her cage one night and cried and I couldnt take it! Living with FH he always crated his dogs when he grew up. At my house we never did only when they were pups and it was just while we weren't home. Once they were trained to go outside and not in the house they didn't go back in the cage

Sandy always sleeps in her crate at night. It will probaby stay this way. She does come into our bed for about an hour in the morning.

We don't let Rodney in the bed. He sheds too much and started to rip the sheets with his nails. He has free rein of the apartment and usually sleeps on his dog bed in the living room.

The cat sleeps in his cage (he's weird) or on the bed.

our bed is barely big enough for Craig and I - I can't even imagine letting Golem sleep there too!! We still keep him in the crate at night since he's a puppy, but once he's old enough to be trusted with free rein of the house, we'll let him sleep where he wants. Even though he's been going into the crate to sleep on his own lately. We decided early on that we wouldn't let Golem in our bedroom, we'll see what happens with that as he gets older though!

Our dogs love their crate (aka "snuggle shack") and they'll always sleep there at night.

Our dog started sleeping in our room, in her own bed at around 12 weeks old. We didnt crate train, and within 1 week she knew how to get out of the kitchen so thats about the time she started sleeping with us! She loves being close to us and has never had an accident in the middle of the night so it wasnt a problem.

Casey is still in her crate - she is 9 months. She will probably stay there for at least another year. She is still in the chewing stage.

If the Rottie (DH's pooch) had her way she would be in our bed or on the couch 24/7. She was never crated but never permitted to sleep in a bed, either.

The sheperd mix (my pooch) was crated but soon had free reign over the house. She's so attention-hungry that she would not let you sleep if she was in bed with you.

Now that we are in our own house, both the dogs are "penned" into the kitchen/dining room area overnight. They are not allowed upstairs at all because the Rottie's hips are starting to have trouble and it wouldn't be fare to let one up there alone.

i honestly dont remember. i know we had a crate for Lukin, but im not sure how much we even used it.
as for Tink. i used it the first few nights... and when she would cry to pee i would take her to the wee wee pad, let her do her business, THEN bring her back to bed with me rather than crating her. i think she only had 2 pees in our bed.

I think my dog lasted one night! She cried and cried that first night, and I am too much of a softie it broke my heart I had to take her to bed with me

She sleeps with me, my mom or my sister wherever we fall asleep (the bed or the couch), but will sleep in her own bed during the day.

Bruno slept in his bed from day one until he got big enough to jump in our bed.

Oliver too...he thinks he's letting US sleep in his bed. Oreo prefers her space and has her own bed in our room.
