Okay Scott - I am now completely addicted to Foxtons.com!
You've been posting the most awesome houses from there so I decided to take a look for myself today....Oh my god - it's 4:00, I've done not a speck of work all day (again) and "My Foxtons" already has about 15 homes in it! Just wanted to say thanks for sharing so many of the houses you've found!! I'm looking more and more at Suffolk county homes lately.... the homes - at least what I've seen on Foxtons - are so much more affordable and HUGE compared to the same price in Nassau!!! 
I'm drooling over these homes - I can't get over the prices!!

Really?? So far I've been nothing but impressed with all the information they provide for the listings on the site - this is actually the only one I've found that gives the house's floorplans too. It's been very helpful for me in searching anyway, I'm curious to hear about these bad experiences.

I put up a long post on just a few days ago, detailing the Foxtons experience. If you can use Foxtons and get what you want, then great. I had a very bad experience. Some people may have good experiences, but it seems rare! I would never deal with them again. We tried! We just closed on a house that was listed with Coldwell Banker. It was a great experience, completely different experience than Foxtons. My info was not meant to offend anyone! We got burned and wanted to warn people!

I actually just saw that post and read a few other reviews of Foxtons as well. It was pretty mixed reviews for the most part - but this is always good to know.... just in case! Thanks for sharing - your post from the other day was really informative!

Oh--the floor plan info was really great. There were some mistakes when compared to the actual house though!

My real estate agent warned us against looking at Foxtons homes because of the way the commission works. She said that Foxtons commission of 2% doesn't cover the buyer's agent commission and therefore they negotiate a higher price for the house to make up for that fact.

We bought our house in queens through Foxtons and there were no problems - it was a really easy experience and our closing was less than three hours total. Their website was so helpful and was one of my favorites for looking at houses too...

I love it because it is the most detailed and informative online house search site that I've found so far. I literally spent all day Wednesday drooling over houses on Foxtons!
