I'm NEW with a question...
Hi - I got engaged in March. I have never posted on any message board - so I hope I am doing this correctly. We are looking to get married next spring and I was wondering if anyone has ever been to a wedding at the Central Park Boathouse? or if you've ever heard any positives or negatives.
All feedback will be appreciated!!! Thank you!!

Congratulations--yes you posted right but I haven ever been to a function if you click on teh seach button above and search that location you might find a review or questions about it. Hope that helps.

Hi, and congratulations!
I have never been to the Boathouse, but I have worked for the Poll family. I know it has nothing to do with your wedding, and you probably won't even deal with them, but they are impossible!! Just had to get that out.
Their chef, his name is Anthony, is wonderful, and his food is amazing. I worked at Riverbay when he was the chef there, and now he's at the Boathouse.
All the best of luck to you. I have heard only good things about it there, and it's a favorite spot for a lot of people, so I'm sure it will be great.

I was at a wedding at the Boathouse. It was really nice and one of my most memorable ones. If you get married there in the Summer they have a great outdoor bar area as well. This wedding I went to was non-traditional, they had a jazz band and had the ceremony right in the same room as the wedding. I remember that they had doors where you could walk outside and overlook the boaters. It was pretty cool. There was even a guy at the wedding who had blue hair who decided it would be funny to get stark naked and jump off a nearby rock into the water. Definitly the highlight. I can't remember the food or service to much but remember they were both good. I have been there many times since just to sit outside and have cocktails and cheese and crackers, it is really fun in the suimmer. The parking thing was the only issue, you had to take a taxi to a certain block and avenue and then walk through the park to get to it. Some people may get lost. A really cool thing you could do would be to shuttle people from their hotel or entrance to the park, to the restaurant via horse and buggy. Let me know if you have more specific questions, I can ask my friend who got married there.

Thanks to all that have responded!! Everyone keeps asking me if we've set a date, picked a place, registered...and we have only been engaged for 2 weeks!! So I figured I better get a move on. I am trying to plan from DC which makes it a little more difficult...but thanks again for the warm welcome.

My old boss just got married there about 3 weeks ago. While I did not attend the wedding, several co-workers did and said it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! The food, service and atmosphere!! Good luck and welcome to the boards!!
