Travel Agents - US honeymoon Help!!

Hi Travel Agents...need help

I am getting married at the end of this month -April 28th. We would like to leave on honeymoon saturday april 30th and return either sunday May 8th or mon may 9th.

FI and I are both in our early 30's looking for sun and somewhere with activities - either at the beach or on land. Sont want a typical resort holiday.

Thinking we could break it up if neccessary and do a few days in one place lounging and then move on to somewhere more active for the rest of the time.

We do not want to go to Florida. Thinking about Arizona or California but are open to all suggestions.

FI had a US drivers license with his visa date stamped on it to expire at the end of august this year. He is currently waiting on his green card to arrive but its a slow process.That is why we are looking at US places as no one can give me a straight answer as to whether his drivers license will work in places like Puerto Rico, USVI or hawaii...I have received 100 diff answers from other travellers to attorneys so dont know if we should take the chance.

Can anyone offer suggestions?
