thanks Ladies...I knew I would be in the minority, but I never wanted a diamond. the first ring I ever fell in love with was the "Victoria" ring from Tiffany...the center stone was an aquamarine....
I did A LOT of research on colored stones after that, and thought a sapphire would be better because it is a 9 on the hardness scale ( diamonds being a 10)...I loved the color of the Ceylon...it is lighter than most sapphires you see.....I just LOVE it...I am so happy!!!!
 
ETA: In my research I also learned that sapphires are actual rarer than diamonds.... that damned DeBeers!!!
