Brides that used/are using votive placecards!

My reception itself (not including cocktail hour) is 5 hours so the tealight candle is not going to last the whole night. On average, how lond do they last and is it worth is to hun down long-burning tealights? I found some but they were so much more $ than the regular ones I don't know if it is worth it. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

Someone said that if you freeze them they will last longer--don't know if it works but my guess woudl be to burn one and see how long it lasts--someone told me that they had their hall light them 10 minutes before cocktail hour was over and they lasted the entire reception but I don't know how long her reception was

Good luck! Let me know if freezing them really works

that's interesting!! I have never heard of that! But what are the chances that Jericho Terrace is going to keep them in the freezer before putting them out? Although, with the money we are paying they definitely should!

Re: Brides that used/are using votive placecards!

I did a test last week on the regular tealights from AC moore thatwere 100 for 92 cents. I timed how long they would last and how long before the glas votive holder got hot ( for handling).

Results:
I lit 2 tealights in the holders:
1 lasted 4 1/2 hours
2nd lasted 5 hours.

The glass votive holder didn't really get heated up for the first 20 mins. but by the 1/2 hour mark it was pretty warm... not really handleable.

hope this helps.

Thanks! I think I'm just going to get the cheap ones...there is no point in spending all that money for a half hour extra! thanks again!
