Rehearsal dinner suggestions in NYC, midtown

We are getting married at Chelsea Piers and would prefer to have the rehearsal dinner at a place that is close by, and has a separate room for us. We are thinking of either Italian or American style food. Any suggestions?

Check out Thalia - 50th and 8th.

Trattoria Dopo Teatro has a nice Private Dining Room in their downstairs.

there is a place in the Village that has a really pretty garden room that is enclosed- so even if it rains- you are still like "outside"..

It's called I Coppi. It's on East 9th Street.

Scopa on 29th and Mad also had a couple of private rooms..

Also- check out 212 they have an upstairs room on E 65th

You wrote Chelsea Piers so I'm naming places near there... You could have a golf party at the golf place there (obviously only if you golf). Otherwise, there is Bottino, The Park, Macelleria has a private room... There is also a relatively new place on 14th with a garden out back. That is not so helpful since I can't remember the name. If those get pricey, there is a Patsy's Pizza on 23rd.
