I can't believe I forgot to tell you girls...
FMIL was one of the Daily News bogus $100,000 winners.
We went down to the redemption center yesterday morning and there were a couple thousand ppl with winning tickets! One guy had winning $500, $1,000, $10,000 and $100,000 tickets!!!

Daily News does "Scratch 'n Match" every week. In Sunday's paper there is a scratch gamecard and then they give you 10 #'s in everyday's paper. You scratch off the corresponding #'s on your gamecard to reveal prize amounts. If you get 3 like amounts you win that prize.
Well, Saturday FMIL scratched off her #'s and it revealed 3 $100,000 prizes. So technically she thought she had one.
On Sunday, The Daily News reported that they had printed a wrong #. The #13 should have been a 12. People are furious over this. As of last night 6 lawsuits had been filed.

Six have already been filed. I don't know if it'll do anything though. In 1999, the same thing happened with the Daily News and the 4 cases were dismissed, but now there are thousands of people. So who knows?
Talk abot getting your hopes up huh?

I can't imagine how disappointed they must feel. One man said that he couldn't sleep all night thinking that he won. The next night, he couldn't sleep knowing that he didn't win. So sad! I never liked that paper anyway, but I will definitely stop buying it now.
