Baby's first outfit

Hey! I've been packing my hospital bag and needed to know, does the baby's outfit home need to be a separate top and bottom so it doesn't cover the umbilical cord?
Thanks

Yeah, As long as it doesn't cover the umbilical cord.

Re: Baby's first outfit

I brought Nick home in a one-piece outfit. For the coming home outfit I would recommend getting a preemie outfit - the 3-6 month clothes are HUGE on a newborn!

I dressed her in a side snap t-shirt and a one piece outfit. Dont forget to bring some sort of jacket/snowsuit, and hat also if the weather is still going to be cold

Re: Baby's first outfit

a one piece is fine, you don't have to worry about covering the umbilical cord, you should bring a t-shirt and either pants top and socks or a one piece that has feet - I DEFINTELY suggest getting a preemie outfit, you are only going to probably wear it once anyway, and the 0-3 month outfits swim on them. Also, bring a hat.

I had a shirt and pants outfit but it covered the cord...the pants went all the way to his chin practically - lol.....

I used a sleevless onesie under her take home dress. Here a pic of her coming home. This was last August. My goodness she was soooo little.
