When to book florist??
I am getting married on a "hot" date next June. I have no idea what flowers I will use.
Do I need to just book a florist now? Will they book up? I am having a cocktail party so will not have "real" centerpieces, so will just need some accent pieces, bouquet's...
How do I book if I don't know what I want??

I went to Pedestals and they guided me through it as far as type of BoK and flowers too...there is a BoK thread on here as well that I coped pics from...def check out Pedestals though

I will book a year to 8 months before. I still want to consider my options. I have seen 2 florists. Plus i am not doing reception flowers so i have time to look.

When I went to Pedestals, they told me that I should book someone within the next three months or so. So I guess 8-12+ months is a good timeframe.

You do have a HOT date in the wedding industry because of the weather, month and also because it is prom season. I would start to llok around and price and get ideas. It never hurts to look. Good Luck!

We were going to do flowers last but we saw Pedestals at the Jericho Terrace Bridal SHow made an appointment and then booked them at the appointment..just to get it out of the way

I would go soon - just so you have your pick -you dont want to go somewhere fall in love and not be able to get it - they will give you ideas -you can go to the book store also and flip through see if anything cathces your eye - but getting married in June I would start looking -I already booked mine were not getting married till dec. but there doing our E-pary also and thats next month -

I'm going to go one year before my wedding date - so this July. I've heard it's good to go one year before your date so you can see what flowers are in stock, and are bountiful during your month. I have to use one of two florists, so I really could wait on the florist though because one of the two have to be available.

I have to agree with the "one year rule" if you can --- only because of this: i went in january and saw tulips and was like "NO WAY"... now i am going (one year till wedding) and i'm in love because this is the PERFECT time for tulips. So.....I agree. It's good to know what will be beautiful around your time...

I was the same way about the tulips Lisa!! But when I found out they come in purple, the rest is history.......
