When you first go to try dresses on...
Do they expect you to buy right away?
How do you deal with that if you are just trying but you could either buy or not.
Any tips.

I actually didn't say anything about being ready to buy (I had no intention of buying anything that day). After I tried a bunch of dresses on, I merely told the consultant that I wasn't ready to make a decision and that I wanted some time to think about it. But I did take her business card.

I just told them this was the first few dressees I have tried on. They should be used to people coming in and trying them on, but of course, they do want you to buy from them.

I made sure the place knew I was just looking and I didn't feel pressured at all. I went to Lillette's in Baldwin. I HIGHLY recommed them. Gerri is wonderful! I Love her!

I didn't feel pressured at all. Most places know that a bride generally looks around quite a bit before making a selection. You'll be fine as long as you don't let them fool you with the "if you don't order now..." I did have that experience at one, very well known, place.

I went there also. I tried on a bunch of dresses and then picked one. She wrote down all of the info (style number, cost, measurements) and told me to come back when I was ready to buy. I bought the dress about an hour later.

I didn't tell them weather I was going to buy or not, but they did write down all of the style numbers in case I wanted to come back. Even when I found "the one" I didn't buy it that day, I wanted to show it to my mom and some friends first, then I went back a few days later to buy it.
