Yes, that's how it was for me too. We had been living together for several months, so the day-to-day has been the same. But I feel like the day-to-day is more special. And I feel like our bond is deeper. I think almost every day I remember that moment when the ceremony was over and we walked down the aisle together. That was my favorite moment and I still feel overjoyed about it.

Re: Newlywed question for today

Having to share my money - even though we lived together before - we still had our own accounts - now we share a joint account that we pay our bills from - Don't get me wrong - I still have my seperate account - but its different now.

I guess I should also add having to explain what I spend money on - I can't say I like that.

Re: Newlywed question for today

EVERYTHING!

We never lived together before we got married, so we moved into our new house when we got back from our HM! THat was quite an adjustment and for the first few months we had some growing pains. But it was fun and we love living together!

But to me the thing that changed the most in the last 9 months would be our strength as a couple. Not that I had any doubts before but with all we have been through this year, the ups and downs of the wedding, losing my mom, etc. I know without a doubt that I can rely on him for anything! He is my strength when I feel like I dont have any. I dont know if I ever needed him as much as I have in the past 5 months, but he has not once let me down!

When your faith, strength and, to a point your relationship, is tested with something that life altering and emotionally draining, you find out who you can truly count on. And I love knowing that he will always be there to take care of me when I need him.

This is true for us too. I keep telling people it's the same but better, if that makes any sense.

Re: Newlywed question for today

I do a heck of a lot more laundry and dishes!!!

But, what really has changed, is I now have a sense of security such as I don't have to carry everything on my own.

Re: Newlywed question for today

We didn't live together before we got married and thought once we did we'd get to spend so much time together, unfortunately because of work, the gym, errands and both of us in school we don't. So that hasn't changed, but what has changed is that we try harder than ever to make quality time for one another and to still go on "dates" - I get more excited now about getting alone time and date-time with him than ever!
Also, I realized what a great SAHD he might be someday - he does laundry, vacuums, the dishes, garbage, etc. It's our little running joke

Perfectly said!

We were living together for close to a year.. and in every way we acted/seemed married. but actually BEING married just feels so different (in a good way!)

Re: Newlywed question for today

So much changed for us. We had a long distance relationship for most of our 5 years together. Moving in together after the wedding, was a HUGE adjustment. It was a little rough at first, but we are having a great time now.

Money is a big issue too. I'm not used to explaining where every penny goes.

Exactly I remember a friend asking me a few months after we were married and all I could say was that it was different and that I just felt this whole new level of 'respect' for lack of a better word. I just LOVE staring at his ring and knowing that we are as Moe said a family now. Through thick and thin.

It truly is a comforting feeling.

That was us too! The first months were (are? ) hard, but the little things make me so happy--I was home sick yesterday and on his way home he brought me a Slurpee and medicine to help my throat. I love knowing that I will have someone to take care of me and be there forever.

I would definitely say that I look at DH differently now. I think we have a deeper connection now. I am becoming less selfish as well since we got married.
