In this months Brides' Magazine...
Irish wedding Traditions:
1. Marry on the last day of the old year, so that you wake up to a fresh life together in a new year!
2. Ring a small bell just after your vows. Keep it in your house hold as a constant reminder of your promises to eachother
3. Carry a horseshoe in your bouquet. Since a real one would be weighty, use a miniature charm
4. Shower coins on your guests, who throw them over a cliff or into a lake for good luck (or for landlocked parties: a fountain will do!)

Re: In the spirit of the day, Share some IRISH wedding traditions

I'm Italian but I'm pretending to be Irish just for today so that FH and have something festive to do! I am making (for the first time ever) corned beef and potatoes, Irish style . . . no cabbage, neither of us likes that. Anyway, this is our new Irish tradition so I hope it works out... He's also got plenty of beer tonight of course . . . .
