Any of you girls runners or started running to lose weight?
If so, why is it that one day, I can do a great 4 mile run and feel like it's nothing, then 2 days later, can't get past 1 mile without dying????
I'm training for the LI Half Marathon right now and it's getting so frustrating, I don't think I am going to be able to do it!

Re: Any of you girls runners or started running to lose weight?
I'm like that too but I dont know why - some days are just better than others... maybe it's hormonal?
All I know is, on the days where I'm really suffering with going the distance, I'll just walk part of it. I don't want myself to ever find running to be an annoying chore and start to dread it... So I figure if my body really doesn't feel like it, maybe there's a reason and I'll do a light day.
That said, if the slump lasts longer than 2 days (hardly ever does), I will force myself to do what I have to do.

I don't run regularly but I know that when I don't eat well before I do cardio I definately have less energy. I remember one day I had a chicken breast on whole wheat sandwich a few hours before running and I was like the energizer bunny! So maybe it's your lack of good fuel that's hurting your workouts...

Yeah, I've been doing WW, and I'm thinking that I'm not eating enough protein (b/c protein is always so many points.)
Thanks for the advice!

While it MAY be relatedto what you are eating, or whethe ryou are well hydrated, I have been running for over 10 years and I can tell you...sometimes there are just bad days. Dont seem to be a reason, but then all of a sudden the next day we are back up and at it full force. Try not to get discouraged, and just keep at it :)

Re: Any of you girls runners or started running to lose weight?
Every now and then does come a bad day--but at times I do notice that I would just do it anyway--and after pushing for a good dreading 20 minutes--it seemed that was the plateau I needed to get over b/c then I all of a sudden had the energy I didnt have 20 minutes prior---try that every now and then--see if it works---otherwise--consider it your lazy day--and make it up the next--no biggie..
