I need your HONEST opinion....LONGGGGGG....
Our colors for the wedding are going to be chocolate brown, antique gold, and hints of white and a very bright midnight blue. Our invitations are chocolate brown with gold border, white lettering, and a blue butterfly on the bottom. Our cake will be white with chocolate brown accents, and with a blue butterfly on it. We're incorporating the colors and the butterfly throughout but not killing it. I was wondering if it would be too much if we had a seperate theme all together for the tables.
The tables will have a jacquard antique gold cover, chocolate brown napkins, and tall simple white flower centerpieces with a bright blue butterfly in it. Would it be too much if I wanted to use table places instead of table numbers to signify places we've gone? Instead of Table #1, we could use "Las Vegas" and put a postcard or picture of us there and throw a few chips, cards, and dice on the table. Same would go for baseball parks, Hawaii, etc....Is it too much? Will it look cheezy?

IMO,,,may be a bit toooo much
from what you have explained about the colors you are using (sounds beautiful) i feel it may take away from the elegance....

Re: I need your HONEST opinion....LONGGGGGG....
nothing wrong with places for the table names-just keep the colors the same
eta- dont put any stuff from the places - just the named tables is enough and maintain the original colors. i dont really think its a good idea to put poker chips, etc on the tables. but the names are ok

You described these beautiful tables. I wouldn't ruin it by adding cheesy dice and stuff.

I agree w/the other girls that the places/pictures/and stuff on the table would be too much, and doesn't really go with your theme. If you want to do names for tables, why not name different butterflies or something like that?

Re: I need your HONEST opinion....LONGGGGGG....
I think it might be a little too much. Less is more with theming, plus you don't want to confuse themes.
if you really want to have table nams, maybe names of butterflies? And then you can include a photo, and maybe a blurb on the back about what type of butterfly it is, and its characterisitics..deends on how far u want to go..
but I wouldn't introduce an entirelyt separate theming element
