Re: Spinoff Poll: Did you invite all females invited to wedding to the shower?
No, I don't know all of the females invited to the wedding. There are some of FMIL's friends and family who I have yet to meet so I don't think it would be appropriate to invite them. Also some I have only met once or twice so I really don't have enough of a relationship with them. Of course if FMIL wants a few there that's fine as she is helping to put on the shower.
JMO but I think showers should be people and relatives that are close to the bride. One of my friends had 100 women at her shower. It looked like she was looking for more gifts and she didn't have enough time at the restaurant to open all of them.

I agree. I would feel uncomfortable inviting wives and girlfriends that I didnt know, just because Im inviting their significant others to the wedding.

Re: Spinoff Poll: Did you invite all females invited to wedding to the shower?
I am sort of anti shower..it was uncomfortable to me to register and throw a gift giving party, so I had family only at my mother's house for brunch..it turned out to be very nice and intimate..I don't like getting invited to non family members showers..I think engagement party/wedding gift is enough. the invites haven't gone out yet, but NO--not all of them will be invited. It would be awkward to have people I don't know at the shower.

Re: Spinoff Poll: Did you invite all females invited to wedding to the shower?
Since FH and I insisted on having only people we know at the wedding, I gave my sister (MOH) names to all of the women for the shower invites.

Re: Spinoff Poll: Did you invite all females invited to wedding to the shower?
nope. If I was having a very small intimate wedding, that might be the exception. I firmly believe that showers are for close friends and family. I have a ginormous family, so there will be 50 women there...
