After you book your hall
I booked my hall a little over 2 weeks ago. Since the day I signed the contract, I haven't contacted them, and they have not contacted me either.
Should I be talking to them about anything just yet? I have a while to go, but I wasn't sure if there is something I am supposed to be doing now that I am not.

I was wondering that too.....I booked back in November for my March '06 wedding and have a called a few times w/ questions, but that's it. Do I just assume they'll contact me with info?

The only time my hall has contacted me was to let me know about an upcoming showcase. Other than that I have gone once to make a payment. I believe they contact you to set up an appt. to choose the menu etc. when it gets much closer to your date.

when we signed our contract, our BM gave us all the info we needed. smcc is a little different, they don't require monthly payments. we have to pay 3/4 of the balance a month before the wedding and the rest is due the day of. we can pretty much do what we want. if we want to make payments we can, but other then the deposit, they don't require anything. but call them and speak with your bm, he can tell you what the policy is

no need to contact your hall now...If you have questions, by all means, call them & ask away...Otherwise, you don't need to be in contact til prior to the wedding

We haven't really had any contact with them, just sending in payments. You have awhile to do, usually you pick the menu a month or so beforehand, so there really isn't anything to do until then!

Did you go for a tasting??? We are going for lunch in April break...but other than that there is no need for contacting them yet...you will need to finalize the menu eventually but that is a ways off

They actually gave us a free dinner that same night in the restaurant, I think in part because I expressed that I really needed to like the food as much, if not more than the decor.
there is an expo coming up next month for Westbury Manor brides, so any questions I have can wait til then. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't neglecting anything! I feel like the laziest bride compared to you all!

Do you know when the expo is? I would love to go and taste the food ( if they are doing that)
that is April 14, 2005 from 6:30 to 9:00 pm I think. I am not sure if they are doing a tasting, but they are serving hors d' oeuvres and champagne. But the food I had in the restaurant was OUTSTANDING. I was so very pleased...if the food is half as good as the wedding, I will be happy.
