Did anyone else have a bad first experience.......
Okay, I went Sunday with my SIL, on the sly, (my mom would kill me that i did it without her) just to go take a look (being that all you girls seem to have your dress already and I havnt even started looking)... anyway.... I think I must have tried on about 13 dresses at least and I absolutley HATED every single one.. I wanted to cry! This was very depressing! What If I can't find a dress, what happens then?? Please tell me one of you had this experience at least once! I have no desire now to go look again.... AAGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!

Re: Did anyone else have a bad first experience.......
Dont give up I had a bad first experience too but slightly different. I went with my close friend and bridesmaid to look at dresses (my mother wasnt interested at the time) and was refused service, I'm 22 years old and paying for most of my wedding and had my checkbook with me, I made appointments but when I arrived they wouldnt help me and told me to come back with my mother if I wanted a gown!
This past week I went gown shopping with my mother and found several of the salons to be incredibly rude...one salon let me try on three gowns (hideous and nothing that i told her i wanted) and then said that was my limit and I had to pick after trying three on.
Go to Lilletes and ask for Carol shes extremely nice and they have beautiful gowns!
Don't give up you will love your gown when you find it! I found mine at Estelles and love it! I mightorder it through Lilletes though because estelles doesnt do alterations.

I mean just reminiscing on my Prom and Formal dress shopping experiences which were HORRIBLE! Each time I would say to my Mom ...wait until I get married...well here I am and I found my dress after looking for a week or soo..DON'T GIVE UP

Re: Did anyone else have a bad first experience.......
OMG!! The first and only dress experience I had made me leave crying. I was too heavy for every dress so they didnt close, so embarassing. They didnt show me any of the dresses I brought pictures in of because they felt due to my size that I would look better in others that I absolutely hated. I finally tried on one dress after saying that I was leaving and them talking me into one more dress. I thought I loved it but now I think it was because it looked good on me heavy. If I can lose weight I think I will love something else, so I joined WW and will keep looking! You shouldnt give up your perfect dress is out there. Try Burtons after you find the dress you want because they have great discounts and Karen is real nice but the rest of their service can use adjusting.

Re: Did anyone else have a bad first experience.......
I had a really good experience at Lillette's. I told my BMs what I wanted, brought pictures from magazines and Carol showed me about 10 dresses that matched what I wanted. The ladies there were very friendly.
Good luck!

Re: Did anyone else have a bad first experience.......
I had the worst first experience also... I wanted to say forget it all, and I'll just wear a sundress! lol...My consultant kept picking out these dresses that just weren't me.. and trying to talk me into them by saying "you need detail honey... sparkle adds pzazz!" I don't want sparkle though.. i just want a really beautifully constructed gown... no pearls, sequins, crystals, embroidery... just simple, cause thats me in a nutshell.
I'm not gonna give up though cause I knew this part would be the most difficult for me, hence why I started earlier..
