Best bridal show ever... I feel so much better about Burtons.. I was having doubts!
Sorry.. Repost from BHB.. I am soo psyched that I feel better about Burtons.. it is hard to stay psyched about vendors you havent seen in like 10 months.. Okay here goes...
Okay so most of them are like crazy with vendors shamelessly begging for your money.... BUT... I went to the showcase at Flowerfields today.. IT WAS AWESOME!!!
Okay.. So I admit, I have all of my stuff booked. I went to my tasting at the Vanderbilt Mansion and was a little sad that I couldn't taste the cocktail hour stuff, So the Bm told me to got to the showcase at the other Lovin Oven (my catering company) locations.... SO I brought my MOH..Leese... and one of my Bm's and my fh.
They had a cocktail room with amazing food (still only like 1/2 half of what the wedding will have), butler passes Hor D'orves, butler passed wine and champange and dessert drinks, a whole wall with Audreys Bake Shop, a bunch of sheet cakes to sample the different cakes and flavors, pastries, and the CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN.. (The one and only reason FH went to the show!!! )
Anyway.. our drunk butts stayed until the end and my florist (burtons, gave us some boquets.. I mentioned that I already booked them and they gave us more boquets and a centerpiece. I will post the arrangments I got and MOH, Leese will post the other ones and some other cool centerpieces we saw there (from other florists) I think I totally changed my mind to another boquet I saw that was really nice.
Also.. Whatever DJ leese is Booking (can't remember his name) IS AWESOME.. SHe molested him all night long at the tasting and he was soooo funny tonight... He totally gets the personality of our friend group and the whole vibe/theme of the wedding. After everyone was leaving he got some food and came and sat with us and dealt with us girl talking about our boobs and stuff... He WAS HILARIOUS!!!! He is making me 2nd guess my DJ!!!!
Anyway..these are the burtons flowers.. Not what I am getting.. just pretty and FREE

i'm using Burtons too! i've never heard bad things about them, i'm excited to go pick my flowers this month!

I have never heard bad either.. I was just seeing all the unique, creative things other places are doing and was worried that I picked one of thier "standard" centepieces and it would be boring. But they assured me that they would make them beautiful.

i must say i've only heard good things about burtons and i was very excited to go there to pick up my flowers. we went to burton's on saturday and i must admit i was very upset when i left.
i met with jon the florist. our flowers are with them because of Queens bridal. We went there to pick out bo-ks and although he was very curteous, he just seemed like he wasn't listening to me. it went from one ear out the other.
i told him i wanted a small clutch bo-k. i'm really not into those big bridal bo-ks and he was like dont worry 30 will be fine for you. and i was like, i don't really like 30 i think it's too much, can i have a little less and he said "don't worry, you're big enough to handle 30 roses" 
i must've repeated myself like 10 times and i finally gave up!!!!!!! he should be happy that from 36 roses i was asking for less than 30 and he just didn't listen.
then, i showed him the bm boks i wanted, i want them EXACTLY like the pic....i printed them out and everything. wouldn't take the pic, barely looked and it and said "don't worry it'll be beautiful"
we left, and as soon as i got in the car i started bawling. i really feel like i'm going to hate the flowers. if i don't it'll be a nice surprise, but i just can't stand vendors that don't listen to you and think they know best. At least take the pictures i printed and keep them with my file, that's all i needed to make me feel better. Ray even went back inside with them to try and give it to him again and he said we don't need it.

Ohh nooo! That is what I was afraid of! Maybe you should call and voice your concerns. It is your $$ and you call the shots! I didn't pick a photog bc of the that same "i know whats best opinion". I would really call them and tell them you really don't want what he was showing you. Good luck and let me know how it goes. I am worried now.
BTW... 30 roses is HEAVY!!!!

thanks for agreeing with me!!! i mean he really made me feel like a total a$$ and i was being very nice, but had to just keep repeating myself. i didn't actually have my bmm till i got in the car and started crying...ray said he would go back in and try again but same thing.
i think what i'm going to do is call beth at queen's bridal and ask her what she thinks. i mean i understand where he's coming from, he's a professional he deals with this stuff everyday, but this is our wedding, and this is how i'm visioning my flowers to look, and i would like them to look exactly like the picture. i don't feel like i'm asking for much!!!!!!
