Apt. Available Nassau/W. Suffolk?....sorry but....
I'm sorry I keep posting looking for an apt. But I'm getting so frustrated. FH & I have been looking the last few weeks every weekend & there is nothing great out there
We're looking for a 1 br, nice sized LR, would love a deck/patio but not necessary. Not a basement.
I'm having apt. issues where I am, w/ my landlord getting busted for the illegal apt. & city inspectors coming & I just need to get out.
I'm also looking forward to moving in w/ FH.
If anyone knows of an apt. that would be wonderful.

What's your price range? I have a friend moving out of an apartment in Huntington in a couple of months (they just bought a house) It's acutally one level of a house, 2 bdrms...

Re: Apt. Available Nassau/W. Suffolk?....sorry but....
We have been checking the pennysavers & newsday & craigslist. I refuse to go to a realtor & pay their commision (for an apt).
We are looking in the price range of $1000-1300 max.
Thanks so much everyone!
We are HOPING to move in April....

Re: Apt. Available Nassau/W. Suffolk?....sorry but....
I know it *****, but when I was renting I finally had to give in and go to a realtor. I hated paying the commission but I found an apartment within a week of contacting the realtor and it was a really nice place. So, it was worth it to me. A lot of the legal apartments are listed with the realtor because the homeowners don't have time to show them. Also the realtors have access to the mulit listing of apartments and could find you apartments in all different areas.
My sis just used a realtor to find her apartment, she found her apartment in Hntington within one week for $950/mo includes all.

Re: Apt. Available Nassau/W. Suffolk?....sorry but....
Do you get the Pennysaver before it gets delivered in the mail? That's what I did. I went to the Pennysaver office in Plainview every Thursday for months. I have to admit I saw so many more dumpy apartments when I didn't use a realtor. It was more work to weed out the bad ones that realtors never would have shown, but it was worth saving one month's rent. Good luck!

Re: Apt. Available Nassau/W. Suffolk?....sorry but....
Being that I'm in Queens & work in Manhattan, its a bit tough for me to get to the Pennysaver office, however, a few girls sent me links to the online Pennysaver.
Thanks again for your help!

Re: Apt. Available Nassau/W. Suffolk?....sorry but....
I just wanted to say, we did the apartment hunt last July. Everything we looked at was worse than the next! Just disgusting, old, dirty, shady places.
We finally decided to give in and go with a realtor. Well, I have to say, it was the best decision we ever made. We found a place in 2 days! It is clean, new, has a huge walk in closet, and a fireplace! And the landlords are great!
Definately worth the first months/last months rent and realtor fee!
(we talked our realtor down a few hundred dollars. It doesn't hurt to try! We really didn't want to pay!!!)
