Did anyone rent a Fetal Doppler and have trouble?
I searched for 20 minutes last night for the hearbeat and couldn't find it. My DH was upset that I rented it, because he thought it would cause me extra stress if I didn't hear it or couldn't find it. Well, I'm trying NOT to stress because I know it can be difficult to detect sometimes, but I just want to know everyone else's experience.
BTW, I'm 15 weeks/5 days

you have to use a lot of lotion and put it down near your pubic bone. thats where my peanut likes to hangout most of the time. At first I had it under my belly button but that was too far up-

Re: Did anyone rent a Fetal Doppler and have trouble?
It's os funny that you posted this stepherg, I want to rent a monitor but my husband thinks I'll be checking a dozen times per day for a heartbeat, and it may cause me more stress. He made a good point, he said "the medically trained doctors sometimes can't find the heartbeat and some of them have been doing this for 20-30 years, what makes you think that you'll be a pro every time". For this reason I decided not to get one, I'd rather handle it like I handled the last 2 pregnancies, I just waited for the next appt. Drink some water though and waitan hour or so and them try again, you have to really be patient and press down.

Re: Did anyone rent a Fetal Doppler and have trouble?
That's exactly what I said on your original post!!! DH thinks I would go CRAZY! The DOCTOR has yet to be able to find my baby's beat so I'm sure you're fine! He does always go really far down by the pubic bone.

My doc has trouble finding mine at his office. I can imagine I would never find it. Whatever you do don't let it stress you out!

Re: Did anyone rent a Fetal Doppler and have trouble?
Thanks!! I have my monthly appt tomorrow...so I'll have the Dr. check it..but yes, I think that it may cause me more stress than it's worth... I got really nervous after reading about someones friend losing her baby at her 16 week checkup! That check up is tomorrow for me so I've been stressing.
Just to let you all know..I am completely obsessive about EVERYTHING!!

Try going UNDER your pubic bone. Just go slow and go over every inch. Dont worry you will find it!
