First Trimester Testing...
I have an appointment tomorrow for the nuchal fold ultrasound and the blood work that goes along with it.
Its not very common here in CO yet so I thought I could ask you girls what to expect.
Does it give false positives like the quad screen does? The brouchure I have is kind of vague but since our insurance covers it I am opting to do.
We actually go to a genetic center to have it done.
I am nervous but excited to see my little one again!!

According to the lab that did my results:
It has a 90% accuracy for Down's with a 5% false positive and a 98% accuracy for Trisomy 18 with a 1% false positive. Basically it gives you a ratio for your chances of a baby with DS or Trisomy 18.
Mine were:
Normally at 32 I would be 1/406 chance of DS. Now have taken the test I am 1/4000.
Also for Trisomy 18 I was 1/968...now I'm 1/10,000.

Basically if I understand by your numbers your odds are great that your baby has neither of those conditions? I am sure that is great news.
