Anyone else a little worried about their water breaking at work?

I really would like to work up until I deliver but I'm worried about my water breaking at work or starting labor at work. It's probably silly but it just sounds a bit embarrassing to me. Is it just me? Has anyone had their water break at work? Did you take off before your due date to avoid this?

I once had this happen to a girl I worked with. Her water broke actually in the bosses office! We had called her husband and he came right away. Do you work far from home?

they say that such a small percentage of women actually have their water break first before actual contractions begin so I wouldn't worry too much, and usually it's just a trickle, not a gush.
my water never broke, the Dr. had to rupture it when I was 8 cm

My friend that I work with actually had this happen to her. Luckily her brother in law worked in the same building as we did so he took her. It really was quite funny though be at first she thought she peed her pants!

I'm nervous about this, I work with all doctors and nurses, and they are all freaked out thinking they would have to help me (they're my close friends so I guess it's a bigger stressor feeling repsonsible for one of your friends), I'm good friends with all the ER docs and they swear they will all be on vacation in August since they don't want to have to deliver my baby (I guess we'd never be able to look at each other again, it would be pretty embarassing doing morning rounds with them after my maternity leave)

I've worked to the end with both my kids, 2 days before my daughter's birth and the day my son was born. Both times the dr. had to break my water.
That was something I always worried about too but I am sure it wouldn't be as bad as you think.

I was nervous about that - but even more it happening on the LIRR for some reason. They say only 20% of woman's water breaks before contractions start. Well...mine broke first and I was three weeks early (I was planning on stopping work two weeks early). Luckily I left work at 5 on the dot that day (which I don't normally do) and was in my own home when it occurred.

Well my water never broke on its own they had to break it for me.
But my sister worked up until the day before she gave birth!!! She went into labor that night when she got home from work

I am afraid my water will break anywhere in public. I just said this to DH yesterday.
