So I'm driving home from a client tonight...
...and decided to try a different way home for a change, when to my surprise, I wind up on Mt. Misery Rd.!!!
I had never been to Mount Misery before, & I really wanted to drive the whole road, but I was afraid it would be icy & it seemed kinda curvy (pretty much I chickened out! ).
I know it's just a road, but it has so many spooky stories, it was kind of fun to stumble upon it!

"Mount Misery, off Sweet Hollow Rd., Huntington
Many different tales of horror and spirits dwell around this place, from a hospital that burnt down in the 1800s to a group of kids hanging themselves under an overpass near there, to ghostly apparitions of “The Lady in White,” named Mary, who was hit and killed by a car on the road. The most believable, the escaped mental patient who used his prosthetic hook to kill high school kids using the place as a lover’s lane. I drove the length of the road but didn’t see anything but million-dollar homes. Definitely spooky."

Let's see, in Melville, I was on Old Country Road I think, going West? I made a right onto Mt. Misery Rd It actually seemed kinda nice, really nice houses, saw signs for the cemetery though.
I'm definetly going to check it out one night, but not w/ an empty tank of gas & hardly any juice left in the cell phone!

Its huntington. It is freaky. When you get to the end of the road its just a dead end with a log that is called "the log" Cross over the log and you are in woods where all the "stuff" happened. Usually though there are lots of kids that hang out up there and smoke pot and god knows what else.

If you make a right off of Jericho Tpke. onto Sweet hollow rd then a quick right onto mt. Misery Rd.

I will never forget mike and I broke up for 2 months  And I was hanging out with this kid James from Brooklyn He had never heard of Mt. Misery so My best friend and I took him there I drove. Well James was like " I gotta pee" OK fine he goes in the woods all of a sudden he comes out of no where and jumps on my windshield (mind u he was 6'4 and he was laying across the windshield) I screamed SO LOUD. I was like look buddy u are so LUCKY I don't leave you here and make you walk to Back to Brooklyn.
God Bless his soul he died like 6 months later in a car accident.
